cursor keys not working on console

from infocmp (cons25 vs xterm):

	kcub1: '\E[D', '\EOD'.
	kcud1: '\E[B', '\EOB'.
	kcuf1: '\E[C', '\EOC'.
	kcuu1: '\E[A', '\EOA'.

It's probably 

	http://invisible-island.net/ncurses/ncurses.faq.html#cursor_appmode

You would probably find
	TERM=xterm-noapp

and improvement.
