memory stick

I am trying to mount a memory stick at the command line. I seem to be able to mount and unmount it but i can't copy files into the stick. please see the attached image for the commands I used and the results. If you have any suggestions on what the problem might be I would sure like to know what you think. I logged in as root on free BSD version 7.0 release 0.0.
