Thanks for all the hints - now I have some point to go on. First I try to use 8.2 from the memstick. If that fails I get such a little adapter and install it from a normal PC (using the CD). I'll let you know after my homework is done. Good to know that FreeBSD has some neutral kernel and chooses all drivers when it boots. Late on! herb langhans
