Right.  See the "rp" option in /etc/printcap.  You can also use CUPS.

Works great with CUPS, which is vastly overimplented, but surprisingly easy
to use.

That's typically known as "socket".  Works great with CUPS.

Why not read the manual and find out?  Click the Support tab on Brother's
web site and you can find lots and lots of documentation for that printer.
