/var/log/messages may give some additional info as well as
a terminal window.

Have you read the FreeBSD Handbook, chapter 10, section 10.2?
BTW, output from commands "uname -a", "kldstat | grep linux" and
"pkg_info -Ix linux" may be helpful.
