actually, i just realized this was for KDE4 only.  altho
the UPDATING mentioned kde 3.5.X to 4.4.

anyhow, looks like i'm safe.  still touching stuff.  strangely, i
was sending mail when tao did a sudden reboot.  i lost every bit
of mail...
