Of course. The sh shell doesn't have setenv.

You mean: FreeBSD's default scripting shell. :-)

	$ PKGDIR="/usr/packages"
	$ export PKGDIR


	$ export PKGDIR="/usr/packages"

Refer to "man sh" for details. The setenv command is a built-in for
the C Shell.
