dhcpd related issue - not giving up

Right now I'm using a layer 3 switch but I also tried with direct UTP connection between BSD-s rl1 port and MacBook's en0 port and I experience the same.

looks good are you using a managed or unmanaged switch . If its managed check the settings on it, VLANs, and whether it is forwarding broadcasts etc
