Questions on portmaster

The fetches are not done in parallel.

This is not enough data to ascertain there is a problem with fetch.
If you are fetching from a busy site, or via a busy upstream channel it
can be slow.

touch /var/db/pkg/<name_of_port>/+IGNOREME

It is. Look in the FILES section of portmaster(8).
