PGP export question

I use gpg 1.4.9,
$gpg --list-keys
/home/edward/.gnupg/pubring.gpg

then I want to export pubkey,
$gpg -armor --export keyID > pubkey.asc
gpg:WARNING: nothing exported

This content of pubkey.asc is empty,why I can't export the pubkey?
