Remote backups using ssh and dump

We use the following in a script to backup our servers.

/bin/ssh -q -o 'BatchMode yes' -l <user> <host>  '/sbin/dump -h 0 -0uf - /home \
| /usr/bin/gzip --fast' 2> /path/to/logs/<host>/home_full.dump.log
    > /backups/<host>_home_full.dump.gz
