No matter what I try I can't get Nvidia 3d acceleration to work. Please help!

It seems the driver is attached:
nvidia0 at pci1:0:0:       class=0x030000 card=0x00000000 chip=0x00f910de 
rev=0xa2 hdr=0x00

its a 6800 GT. From BFG.  I am on CURRENT. And xorg 6.9.0
