X11 forwarding problems in FreeBSD 6.2 - no xauth data?

Check where is the xauth app on the Linux box, and make
strings sshd|grep xauth
to check if it's the same path.
If don't you need to fix this with
XAuthLocation
in your sshd_config file on the Linux box
