Cannot mount file-backed msdosfs filesystem

I'm not sure, but the filename "FreeBSD-SSP_src.ufs" hints to an UFS 
file system. Try

     mount /dev/md0 /home/tataz/src/ssp/src/

instead. Executing fsck_msdosfs with an UFS file system gives me the 
same error message: Invalid signature in boot block: 0000.
