upgrading from 6.1 to 6.2 with custom kernel

those are my instructions and they work as indicated on the site. You 
can separate the commands if you do not want to 'stack' them and it will 
work just fine. I have a custom kernel too and have used those 
directions to upgrade 4+ machines without issue
