Depends on what you actually want to do.
The installation ISO for disc1 includes a 'fixit' version which allows
you to bring up a system that will run most of the FreeBSD commands.
It will do about everything you need to look around a little and get
used of the general commands, but it doesn't have any fun toys.
There is another called something like Freesbie that is supposed to
be a fairly basic FreeBSD system that will run from the CD. I have
not used it so can't say just what it includes.
If you have some spare disk space available, why not just install
a regular FreeBSD on it and dive right in. It is not really all
that difficult, though it takes some relearning if you are too used
to an MS environment.
