Add an entry to /boot/loader.conf, similar to:
# cat /boot/loader.conf
kern.ipc.maxpipekva=67108864
I'm up to 64M, with current usage being closer to 40M:
==============================
kern.ipc.maxpipekva: 67108864 - kern.ipc.pipekva: 39112704
running processes: 1528
