ACPI isn't loaded anymore on boot

Hello,

after rebuilding a new kernel (though I'm in doubt it has to do with
that), the ACPI module isn't loaded any longer automatically on boot.
If I boot the old GENERIC, it won't load the module either.

I have no clue at the moment, any hints? :-)
