create/symlink failed, no inodes free

The same error appeared frequently when I tried to install FreeBSD on an 8.5GB partition. Apparently it was because the root partition was running out of space. So instead of using the auto-option to divide up and create the different (logical?) partitions I created one root partition that is 8000MB and a swap partition that is ~500MB.
