Ummm... Why can't I find the FreeBSD 6.0 ISO images?

Your wget attempt seemed to use active-mode FTP, which doesn't traverse some 
firewalls; you might also try "ifconfig en0 mtu 1400" and see whether that does 
anything helpful...
