This works from single-user mode:
# fsck -p
# mount -u /
# mount -a -t ufs
# swapon -a
But when I exit SUM for MUM, I'm back to the same
problem of usr/bin/login not being found.
My new theory is that portupgrade did something to my
set-up. All the slices are healthy and all the data is
visible.
I am going to try a minimal upgrade from the
installation disc to see if that will set things
right.
