default acl's permissions problem [continuation?]

Hi all,
I've run into the little snag with default acl
permissions, the issue was brought up in this thread

but there was no reply to it and my digging so far
hasn't turned up anything substantial. If anyone knows
of a solution for this please let me know. Thanks
