Error: /usr/lib/crt1.o(.text+0x64): In function `_start':

Has anyone seen these sorts of errors when compiling applications
(such as PHP or Apache2)?  I can buildworld, kernels and most of the
ports.. but occasionally I run in to this error:

/usr/lib/crt1.o(.text+0x64): In function `_start':
: undefined reference to `_init_tls'
