Forcing specific (lower) version of gcc for port?

Hi,

I am trying to port minisip from linux to freebsd. The development team
builds using gcc v. 3.3 but I am using -CURRENT which has gcc 3.4 as
default. In the makefile I have specified USE_GCC= 3.3 - yet the source
is compiled with gcc 3.4.

On the other hand, I have tried to compile on -STABLE and it correctly
uses gcc v. 3.3, but -STABLE comes with v. 2.95.

Is it posible to force a lower version? Of course, the source should
compile with 3.4, but I'd like to destinguish software bugs, and system
and compiler differences before reporting to the authors.

Thanks, Erik
