SLIP Protocol Difference between two verisons.

Is there any difference between the slip protocl in version 3.3 and version 5.1. Im trying to get an uncompressed slip connection. Im using the command slattch -h -l -s 19200 cua0 &. I also found not mention in the man page file of what the -a, -c mean. Thanks for your help in advance.
