Reading regular DVD's

dmesg | grep acd
acd0: DVDR <HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-4082B> at ata1-master UDMA33

FreeBSD 5.2-CURRENT

When I insert a DVD movie /dev/acd0c doesn't register therefore I cannot use mplayer or anything to view the DVD.
