I downloaded the 5.3 mini-install ISO and tried it out, and yes, it
"finds" a lot more things. ACPI is recognised, an "unknown card" on PCI0
turned out to be the video chip (!), and a lot more (CardBus, power switch
(?), lid switch (?)) etc.
So, 5.3 is the way to go. Thanks!
