cannot mount cdrom - not a newbie problem

Hi,

Have you tried:

# mount -t cd9660 /dev/cd0 /mntpnt

Seeing as how you said its a cdrw, I remember reading somewhere to 
use /dev/cd0 and not /dev/acd0
