If you consider 2 to be less than 17 then the version numbers make
sense.

(its a variant of the Y2K syndrome ... do we need to use multi digit
version numbers as in 3.02 which is visibly earlier than 3.17 ;-)

Yes I got caught in this version thingy in mpg also ( 3.8 vs 3.10 )
