X Crashes after exit

I have installed the Nvidia drivers for my system and now when I exit fluxbox, kde, window maker or any other wm/desktop environment it freezes on me with weird lines going accross the screen and the only way to stop it is to ctr+alt+deleteand im getting tired of doing this. the problem just started happening after I ran portupgrade for gettext. Please Cc: me because I am not subscribed to the list at the moment.
