MASTER_SITE_OVERRIDE in make.conf

I found plenty in /usr/ports/Mk/bsd.port.mk, but neither I nor the ee 
search function could find anything about MASTER_SITE* in 
/usr/share/examples/etc/make.conf.

Is my file damaged?
