Howto install ports collection?

Here is my own answer:

ftp://ftp.FreeBSD.org/pub/FreeBSD/ports/ports/ports.tar.gz

I'm not sure if this is the correct solution but I'll extract this under 
/usr.
Any thoughts welcome.
