can I install a port with a different (previous) version ?

cvsup allows you to specify a date, and it will retrieve the files
that were current on that date.  [supfile syntax is 
    date=[cc]yy.mm.dd.hh.mm.ss
according to the manual]

For a single port, it might be easier to use the web interface.
