USB Modem for PPP

I have a USB Modem, and FreeBSD 5.1-RELEASE discovers it
as 

ugen0: STMicroelectronics USB Communicator, rev 1.00/2.00, addr 2


Any possibility that I can use this device for PPP??
Looking for hints.
