ssh has a delay when typing

List,

I have searched the list and have not found a solution. I have also 
upgraded to the latest in the ports tree. I am running FreeBSD 4.9 
Release.

I can connect to the machine fine, but after connected I get random 
pauses and delays while typing.

Any ideas?
