Floppy doesn't recognized by FreeBSD 5.0

I've seen several people post the same problem in the -CURRENT mailing list.
No one has responded to them.
Looking at the "open issues" on the FreeBSD 5.1 ToDo page, I would say that
ACPI is pretty much untested and very immature in FreeBSD.
