That's right, I got confused with pty and tty :)
| Did you create the device nodes in /dev ?
|# cd /dev
|# sh MAKEDEV pty3
| (this makes 128 pty's)
| Note the argument to MAKEDEV is pty[0-7] which creates n+1*32 pty's.
now I should have as many pty as my users will ever need :)
