Installing XFree86 4.3

Hi

    when executing XFree86 -xf86config XF86Config.new, two errors displayed: 

(EE) Unable to locate/open config file: "XFConfig.new"
(EE) Error from xf86HandleConfigFile()

Fatal server error: 
no screens found

Where should be XFConfig.new located?
