make buildkernel KERNCONF=PETCOM fail

These are almost always caused by omitting something mandatory from
your kernel config, or failing to follow the upgrade directions.  In
this case it's both: see /usr/src/UPDATING and/or compare your kernel
to the GENERIC config to see what you've missed.
