make buildkernel fails

hi list,

i ran into some trouble while compiling the new kernel during my upgrade from 4.5 to 4.8:

perl5 /usr/src/sys/kern/vnode_if.pl /usr/src/sys/kern/vnode_if.src
perl5: no such file or dir
*** Error code 1

Stop in /usr/obj/usr/src/sys/GENERIC

*** Error code 1

i first tried building my own kernel, which got stuck at the same point. i would be very glad if somebody could help me with this one. thanks in advance.
