pptp (mpd) and Linux clients

Good day !
Anybody tried to connect from Linux to VPN server based on mpd (FreeBSD
4.7)
>From Windows 98, Windows 2000 and FreeBSD (mpd as client) - no trouble
but from Linux (2.4.19 with MPPE support ) - no chance -
pptp client always gets -
Unsupported protocol 0x2145 received
sent [LCP ProtRej id=0x2 21 45 00 00 70 b3 84 00 00 01 11 e9 d4 0a 80 01 c1 0a
