I have the same FreeBSD release, long_bit and hw.model as canardo's and got the
same error message.

In addition, after that, in the port folder /usr/ports/lang/gcc9, I run ' make
clean'   and run ' make install MAKE_JOBS_UNSAFE=yes'  and got, again, the same
message.
