Yes, it is a tier-2 architecture and we do not currently have prebuilt 
binary packages as a result. We are racking some new build nodes into 
the cluster early next week and hopefully this situation will begin to 
resolve then. For now, you do have to build from ports.

X and a variety of apps should work fine, though you will run into 
programs that are x86-only or have weird bugs on ppc sometimes.
