Rescue FreeBSD (PowerPC)??

hi guys
Well.. what should not have happened... did happen!
my FreeBSD box .. took a nosedive ... the disc is "kaput" ....

before I replace the disk.. I would like to salvage as much as  
possible...
and wondered whether the various tips on the net for "rescue freebsd"  
does apply to the PowerPC version as well....
or alternatively: what tricks there are needed for us that use  
FreeBSD on PowerPC....

so ... any tips/tricks etc etc .. are greatly needed/appreciated...  
to rescue what can be rescued ...
