CD/DVD drive on Mac-mini!

And indeed, dmesg on my Mac-mini now knows about:

    acd0: DVDR <MATSHITACD-RW CW-8123/CAD4> at ata1-slave BIOSPIO

Thanks muchly!  This should make CD-installs much easier...  :-)
