Hello there,

This is an accumulated patch, fixing several long standing issues with the 
Prosody XMPP server port:

There hasn't been any reaction from the maintainer in almost 4 months or 
from anyone else since setting the "maintainer timeout" flag about a month 
ago.

The patch and the resulting package have been running on my and a friend's 
Prosody servers for several months now without any known problems.

Can a committer please have a look at this?
