How to get number of times a package has been downloaded?

I don't believe that any webstats for the pkg repositories are published
as a matter of course.  I don't know if the pkg meisters have any sort
of private webstats site or if they generate stats themselves that they
might be prepared to share.  It would be interesting to see an analysis
broken down by OS version, architecture and pkg name over time.

Probably your best recourse is to enquire with portmgr@
