When building php56-extensions I ran into:

checking for SSL_CTX_set_ssl_version in -lssl... yes
Segmentation fault (core dumped)
checking whether rfc822_output_address_list function present... Segmentation fault (core dumped)
no
checking whether build with IMAP works... Segmentation fault (core dumped)
no
configure: error: build test failed. Please check the config.log for details.

Please report the problem to ale at FreeBSD.org [maintainer] and attach the
"/usr/ports/mail/php56-imap/work/php-5.6.27/ext/imap/config.log" including
the output of the failure of your make command. Also, it might be a good idea
to provide an overview of all packages installed on your system (e.g. a
/usr/local/sbin/pkg-static info -g -Ea).
