I am sorry, but I am not the maintainer of the port. I only filed a PR 
(Bug 204525) as a suggestion for an update.

The maintainer (bf at FreeBSD.org, CC'ed) is the person to decide, if this 
should happen.

In the meantime, you could try the patch as a local copy and update your 
math/jags installation, if you want to.
