I would like to understand better the problem here, because I use c++11
features heavily with lang/gcc49 on a daily basis with zero problems.

gcc5 is still buggy, but gcc49 is a pleasure to work with.

I must be missing something, because if you want to support c++11, why
wouldn't you require gcc49? What am I missing? I'm just trying to
learn the ports philosophy here better.
